Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMisbehaving Node Detection in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks using Multi Hop Acknowledgement SchemeUsha Sakthivel, S. RadhaProblem statement: For any node in a Mobile Ad hoc Network conservation of battery power and bandwidth are the priority. Hence, they try to reduce the overload they would otherwise incur when they forward packets. This selfish behavior of a node affects the throughput of the network. The nodes may also choose a back off value of shorter duration. These … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,714 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Effective Location-Based Power Conservation Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksKhalid Kaabneh, Azmi Halasa, Hussein Al-BahadiliProblem statement: One of the major issues in current reactive routing protocols for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) is the high bandwidth and power consumptions during the routing process. In this study, we proposed and evaluated the performance of an efficient Location-Based Power Conservation (LBPC) scheme for MANETs. Approach: In this scheme, the transmitting node utilized the location-information of the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,839 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSecure Antnet Routing Algorithm for Scalable Adhoc Networks Using Elliptic Curve CryptographyV. Vijayalakshmi, T. G. PalaniveluThe secure end-to-end route discovery in the decentralized Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs) should have to meet the requirements of prevention of DoS attacks on data traffic, should be adaptive and fault tolerant and must have high speed, low energy overhead and scalability for future development. In this research a secure routing using antnet mechanism and mutual authentication using Elliptic Curve … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2007 · 6,959 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLink Stability with Energy Aware Ad Hoc on Demand Multipath Routing Protocol in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksSenthil Murugan Tamilarasan, Kannan EswariahMobile Ad Hoc Network is one of the wireless network in which mobile nodes are communicate with each other and have no infrastructure because no access point. The MANET protocols can be classified as proactive and reactive routing protocol. The proactive routing protocols, all nodes which participated in network have routing table. This table updated periodically and is used to … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 24 Jul 2013 · 6,509 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsQuality of Service Aware Reverse Pathad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector ProtocolK. G. Santhiya, N. ArumugamMobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is aninfra structureless network that does not require any built-in infra structure and central control. Due to very fast mobility of nodes, there will be drastic changes in the network topology. So an adaptive routing protocol is needed for effective and reliable routing in MANET. Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol is the efficient and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 20 Sep 2012 · 7,064 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCongestion Free Routing in Adhoc NetworksT. Senthil Kumaran, V. SankaranarayananProblem statement: A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is a temporary network; the mobile devices in an ad-hoc network are communicating through wireless links without any pre-existing infrastructure. The one major problem of this network is network congestion, it may take place at any intermediate nodes when data packets are traveling from source to destination. The major problems of congestion or … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 4 Apr 2012 · 7,240 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsReliable and Efficient Broadcasting in Asymmetric Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Minimized Forward Node List AlgorithmMarimuthu Murugesan, Ammasai KrishnanProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks. In broadcasting, a source node sends a message to all the other nodes in the network. Unlike in a wired network, a packet transmitted by a node in ad hoc wireless network can reach all neighbors. Therefore, the total number of transmissions (Forwarding nodes) used as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2010 · 7,580 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMultiple Constraints for Ant Based Multicast Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksA. Sabari, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is one of the challenging environments for multicast. Since the associated overhead is more, the existing studies illustrate that tree-based and mesh-based on-demand protocols are not the best choice. The costs of the tree under multiple constraints are reduced by the several algorithms which are based on the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,877 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Comprehensive Analysis of Simulated results for the Performance of AODV and TORA Routing Protocols in Mobile Ad-hoc NetworksVelmurugan Thambusamy, Navitha SrinivasanA Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is underpinning less system of movable devices connected by wireless links. Every device in MANET moves arbitrarily on any path with no impediments and this free movement helps in transforming its links to new devices promptly and unpredictably. MANETs do not require a predefined arrangement or centralized administration to interconnect with each other. This research … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 4 · 2 May 2019 · 7,481 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA MOBILE AGENT BASED INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE FOR MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKSBinod Kumar Pattanayak, Mamata RathApplications of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) have become extensively popular over the years among the researchers. However, the dynamic nature of MANETs imposes a set of challenges to its efficient implementation in practice. One of such challenges represents intrusion detection and prevention procedures that are intended to provide secured performance of ad hoc applications. In this study, we introduce … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 6 · 28 Jan 2014 · 7,271 accessesView PDFCite
