Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimal Power Control with Overhearing Avoidance for Wireless Sensor NetworksM. Ramakrishnan, P. Vanaja RanjanProblem statement: Extending lifetime of the battery operated wireless sensor nodes through the design of low power medium access control protocols dealt in this study. Approach: In this study energy efficient Optimal Power Control MAC with Overhearing Avoidance (OPC-OA) was proposed. The transmission power of every node was dynamically changed for the optimal connectivity between nodes. The optimal transmission power … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2009 · 7,131 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCross Layer Optimization Based on Rate Distribution in Multirate Wireless Sensor NetworkHonggang Wang, Dongming Peng, Wei Wang, Hamid SharifIt is important to increase the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) lifetime, due to its limited energy resource, while meeting the constraints of applications. Recent Advances for In-Network Processing (INP) motivate many WSN applications which are based on multi rate and distributed signal processing, and therefore require the support of rate-based routing as well as MAC and link layer designs to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2007 · 6,552 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractConstructing Longest Lifetime Route in Mobile Ad-hoc NetworksFredrick Mtenzi, Yingyu WanA mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is an autonomous system consisting of mobile hosts connected by wireless links. Every host can move in any direction at any speed and time. This leads to a dynamic topology as hosts move constantly. MANET broadcast messages to each hosts, the transmission of one host can be heard by all hosts in its communication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 19 Oct 2005 · 4,936 accessesView PDF Cite
