Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Analysis of Call Admission Control in WCDMA Systems with Mobility based Interference Margin ReservationS. Malarkkan, V. C. RavichandranThis study presents performance of call admission control and resource reservation schemes based on the mobility of the users in WCDMA cellular systems. In order to guarantee the handoff dropping probability, the mobility of the user is predicted based on a realistic mobility model. The mobility prediction scheme used in this study is used to estimate the set of candidate … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2006 · 6,384 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHeterogeneous GPRS-WLAN Integration Based on Ad-Hoc NetworksS. LouvrosIn heterogeneous microcellular networks like 802.11(WLAN)-GPRS, users can roam around through vertical handoffs. The major problem in heterogeneous networks is that they support different QoS requirements and the users suffer sudden changes in data rates. This study proposes certain routing algorithms to extend the service time of mobile handsets in the wireless network with higher available data rate, thus improving … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 6,538 accessesView PDF Cite
