Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign of Synthetic Optimizing Neuro Fuzzy Temperature Controller for Dual Screw Profile Plastic Extruder Using LabviewRavi Samikannu, Balakrishnan Anantharaman PoonamallieProblem statement: The temperature control in plastic extrusion machine is an important factor to produce high quality plastic products. The first order temperature control system in plastic extrusion comprises of coupling effects, long delay time and large time constants. Controlling temperature is very difficult as the process is multistage process and the system coupled with each other. In order to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,112 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Hybrid of Fuzzy and Proportional-Integral-Derivative Controller for Electro-Hydraulic Position Servo SystemPornjit Pratumsuwan, Siripun Thongchai, Surapun TansriwongProblem statement: While classical PID controllers are sensitive to variations in the system parameters, Fuzzy controllers do not need precise information about the system variables in order to be effective. However, PID controllers are better able to control and minimize the steady state error of the system. To enhance the controller performance, hybridization of these two controller structures comes to … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 31 Oct 2010 · 10,516 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFuzzy Logic Controller Based Three-phase Shunt Active Filter for Line Harmonics ReductionC. Sharmeela, M. R. Mohan, G. Uma, J. BaskaranHarmonic distortion is a form of electrical noise. It is a superposition of signals, which are of multiples of fundamental frequency. Proliferation of large power electronic systems results in increased harmonic distortion. Harmonic distortion results in reduction of power quality and system stability. This paper presents fuzzy control applicable for active power filter for three-phase systems, which are comprised of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2007 · 7,107 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDevelopment of a Fuzzy Logic Controller for Real-time Energy Optimization of a Hybrid vehicleSk. Khairul Hasan, Anoop Kumar DhingraThe ability to combine positive features of an internal combustion engine with those of an electric motor has been fundamental to the advancement of the high-performance energy-optimized hybrid vehicles. However, due to a lack of reliable and realistic hybrid vehicle models, much of the hybrid vehicle controller research has been limited to computer simulations. To overcome this shortcoming, this paper … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 21 Oct 2020 · 6,950 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign of a Fuzzy Logic Sliding mode Model Following Controller for a Brushless DC Servomotor DriversPhongsak PhakamachProblem statement: A brushless DC servomotor position control system using a fuzzy logic sliding mode model following controller or FLSMFC is presented. Approach: The FLSMFC structure consists of an integrator and variable structure system. Results: The integrator ensures the elimination of steady state error due to step and ramp command inputs, while the fuzzy control would maintain the insensitivity to … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 26 Jan 2012 · 7,196 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAdaptive Controllers for Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor Drive System using Adaptive-Network-based Fuzzy Interference SystemV.M. Varatharaju, Badrilal Mathur, UdhayakumarProblem statement: The tuning methodology for the parameters of adaptive speed controller causes a transient deviation of the response from the set reference following variation in load torque in a permanent-magnet brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive system. Approach: This study develops a mathematical model of the BLDC drive system, firstly. Secondly, discusses a design of the closed loop drive system … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 19 Jul 2011 · 6,941 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFuzzy Logic Controller for Wireless Video TransmissionK. P. Rajesh, K. S. RamaswamiProblem statement: As the Variable Bit Rate (VBR) is high in MPEG, the video experienced long delay and unexpected data loss. In wireless channel, due to noise and interference of other signals transmission rate cannot be predicted. Approach: In this paper we proposed an intelligent fuzzy logic controller for transmission of Moving Picture Expert Group (MPEG-4) video signals over wireless … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 30 Jun 2011 · 6,950 accessesView PDFCite
