Review ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleFace Recognition as a Biometric ApplicationRelly Victoria Virgil PetrescuA facial recognition system is a technology capable of identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. There are multiple methods in which facial recognition systems work, but in general, they work by comparing selected facial features from the given image with faces within a database. It is also described as … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 14 May 2019 · 18,781 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleFACE RECOGNITION USING RELATIONSHIP LEARNING BASED SUPER RESOLUTION ALGORITHMSenthilSingh, ManikandanThe face recognition is an application which is for identifying a person from a digital image. The common problem that often occurs while identifying the face from image is due to the low resolution in images especially when it is captured from a long distance. In automated face recognition system, this has always been a challeging problem. To overcome this … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 16 Jan 2014 · 6,968 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleDECISION TREE BASED OCCLUSION DETECTION IN FACE RECOGNITION AND ESTIMATION OF HUMAN AGE USING BACK PROPAGATION NEURAL NETWORKP. Karthigayani, S. SridharOcclusion detection in face verification is an essential problem that has not widely addressed. In this study the research is deals about occlusion detection in face recognition and estimation of human age using image processing. The objects hide from another object is called as occlusion. Occlusion conditions may vary from face wearing sunglasses, wearing of scarf in the eyes and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 12 Nov 2013 · 6,770 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Efficient Implementation of Weighted Fuzzy Fisherface Algorithm for Face Recognition Using Wavelet TransformEsther Annlin Kala James, S. AnnaduraiProblem statement: The paper addresses the face recognition problem by proposing Weighted Fuzzy Fisherface (WFF) technique using biorthogonal transformation. The weighted fuzzy fisherface technique was an extension of Fisher Face technique by introducing fuzzy class membership to each training sample in calculating the scatter matrices. Approach: In weighted fuzzy fisherface method, weight emphasizes classes that were close together and deemphasizes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 26 Oct 2011 · 7,345 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleImproving the Performance of Machine Learning Based Multi Attribute Face Recognition Algorithm Using Wavelet Based Image Decomposition TechniqueS. Sakthivel, M. RajaramProblem statement: Recognizing a face based attributes is an easy task for a human to perform; it is closely automated and requires little mental effort. A computer, on the other hand, has no innate ability to recognize a face or a facial feature and must be programmed with an algorithm to do so. Generally, to recognize a face, different kinds … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 6,907 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleFace Recognition Based on Nonlinear Feature ApproachEimad E.A. Abusham, Andrew T.B. Jin, Wong E. Kiong, G. DebashisFeature extraction techniques are widely used to reduce the complexity high dimensional data. Nonlinear feature extraction via Locally Linear Embedding (LLE) has attracted much attention due to their high performance. In this paper, we proposed a novel approach for face recognition to address the challenging task of recognition using integration of nonlinear dimensional reduction Locally Linear Embedding integrated with Local … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 6,520 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleFace Recognition using Eigenfaces and Neural NetworksMohamed Rizon, Muhammad Firdaus Hashim, Puteh Saad et al.In this study, we develop a computational model to identify the face of an unknown person’s by applying eigenfaces. The eigenfaces has been applied to extract the basic face of the human face images. The eigenfaces is then projecting onto human faces to identify unique features vectors. This significant features vector can be used to identify an unknown face by … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2006 · 6,940 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleBoosting Kernel Discriminative Common Vectors for Face RecognitionC. Lakshmi, M. PonnavaikkoProblem statement: Kernel discriminative common vector (KDCV) was one of the most effective non-linear techniques for feature extraction from high dimensional data including images and text data. Approach: This study presented a new algorithm called Boosting Kernel Discriminative Common Vector (BKDCV) to further improve the overall performance of KDCV by integrating the boosting and KDCV techniques. Results: In BKDCV, the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2009 · 6,571 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEnhancing Social Media Face Emotion Recognition Using a Fuzzy ELM ApproachShuchi Gupta, K. Viswanath, S. Gokul Pran et al.Our computational tools for searching, exploring, and sharing personal photographs are falling behind the rapid pace at which these images are being captured digitally. The use of automatic face recognition to categorize images according to the people in them is one potential solution. Accurate recognition on the Internet scale, however, presents the seemingly insurmountable challenge of picking out specific people … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 3 · 20 Mar 2026 · 1,978 accessesView PDFCite
