Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Methodological Framework for Software Safety in Safety Critical Computer SystemsP. V. Srinivas Acharyulu, P. SeetharamaiahSoftware safety must deal with the principles of safety management, safety engineering and software engineering for developing safety-critical computer systems, with the target of making the system safe, risk-free and fail-safe in addition to provide a clarified differentaition for assessing and evaluating the risk, with the principles of software risk management. Problem statement: Prevailing software quality models, standards were not … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 9 · 16 Aug 2012 · 7,659 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Web-based Interactive Real Laboratory for Process Engineering EducationMaher Chaabene, Kamel Mkaouar, Mohamed OualiAn online supervision and control of a laboratory designed for process engineering education was conceived. The principal aim was to minimise the time access of an operator when manipulating laboratory features. Hence, the Time delay due to Internet traffic was overcome by using a Web Embedded Server (WES). A human-computer interactive interface using JAVA Script was developed so as to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2007 · 6,729 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe use of Random Forest Classification and K-means Clustering Algorithm for Detecting Time Stamped Signatures in the Active NetworksKamalanaban Ethala, R. Shesadri, N. G. RenganathanIn day to day information security infrastructure, intrusion detection is indispensible. Signature based intrusion detection system mechanisms are often available in detecting many types of attacks. But this mechanism alone is not sufficient in many cases. Another intrusion detection method viz K-means is employed for clustering and classifying the unlabelled data. IDS is a special embedded device or relied software … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 18 Jun 2013 · 7,500 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparative Evaluation of Adaptive Filter and Neuro-Fuzzy Filter in Artifacts Removal From Electroencephalogram SignalPaulchamy Balaiah, IlavennilaProblem statement: This study presents an effective method for removing mixed artifacts (EOG-Electro-ocular gram, ECG-Electrocardiogram, EMG-Electromyogram) from the EEG-Electroencephalogram records. The noise sources increases the difficulty in analyzing the EEG and obtaining clinical information. EEG signals are multidimensional, non-stationary (i.e., statistical properties are not invariant in time), time domain biological signals, which are not reproducible. It is supposed to contain … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 15 Aug 2012 · 7,090 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTwo Optimization Methods to Determine the Rate Constants of a Complex Chemical Reaction Using FORTRAN and MATLABAbdel-Latif Aboul Seoud, Lamiaa A.M. AbdallahProblem statement: For chemical reactions, the determination of the rate constants is both very difficult and a time consuming process. The aim of this research was to develop computer programs for determining the rate constants for the general form of any complex reaction at a certain temperature. The development of such program can be very helpful in the control of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2010 · 8,050 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSpeedup of Particle Transport Problems with a Beowulf ClusterZhongxiang Zhao, G. Ivan MaldonadoThe MCNP code is a general Monte Carlo N-Particle Transport program that is widely used in health physics, medical physics and nuclear engineering for problems involving neutron, photon and electron transport[1]. However, due to the stochastic nature of the algorithms employed to solve the Boltzmann transport equation, MCNP generally exhibits a slow rate of convergence. In fact, engineers and scientists … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Dec 2006 · 6,923 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA NOVEL APPROACH FOR INFORMATION SECURITY IN AD HOC NETWORKS THROUGH SECURE KEY MANAGEMENTS. Suma Christal Mary, M. PallikondaRajasekaran, Y. ChrisbinJeevaAd hoc networks provide flexible and adaptive networks with no fixed infrastructure and dynamic topology. Owe to the vulnerability nature of ad hoc network, there are lots of security threats that diminish the development of ad hoc networks. Therefore, to provide security for information of users and to preserve their privacy, it becomes mandatory to use cryptographic techniques to set … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 2 Oct 2013 · 6,693 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Alternative Ray Tracing Algorithm for Understanding Scenes with Embedded ObjectsNancy Dandachy, Dimitri Plemenos, Safwan Chendeb, Bachar El HassanProblem statement: In the virtual world domain, the existing techniques of exploration, were not able alone to resolve the understanding problem of scenes with embedded object, also they are time and memory consuming. As a solution, a novel method that enhances the visualization of 3D ray traced scenes with embedded objects by creating a hole proportional to its interior parts … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2010 · 7,294 accessesView PDF Cite
