Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleREVIEW CLUSTERING MECHANISMS OF DISTRIBUTED DENIAL OF SERVICE ATTACKSWesam Bhaya, Mehdi Ebady ManaaDistributed Denial of Service attacks (DDoS) overwhelm network resources with useless or harmful packets and prevent normal users from accessing these network resources. These attacks jeopardize the confidentiality, privacy and integrity of information on the internet. Since it is very difficult to set any predefined rules to correctly identify genuine network traffic, an anomaly-based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) for network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 26 Jun 2014 · 7,635 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDISTRIBUTION OF LOAD USING MOBILE AGENT IN DISTRIBUTED WEB SERVERSVijayakumar G. Dhas, V. Rhymend UthariarajThe continuing growth of the World-Wide Web is placing increasing demands on popular Web servers. Many of the sites are now using distributed Web servers (i.e., groups of machines) to service the increasing number of client requests, as a single server cannot handle the workload. Incoming client requests must be distributed in some fashion among the machines in the distributed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 5 · 28 Feb 2014 · 6,590 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Efficient Distributed Bioinformatics Computing System for DNA Sequence Analysis on Encoding SystemMohammad Ibrahim Khan, Chotan SheelThis study provides an effective design of search technique of a distributed bioinformatics computing system for analysis of DNA sequences using OPTSDNA algorithm. This system could be used for disease detection, criminal forensic analysis, gene prediction, genetic system and protein analysis. Different types of distributed algorithms for the search and identification for DNA segments and repeat pattern in a given … …Current Research in Bioinformatics, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 20 Dec 2013 · 6,931 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleADAPTIVE RESOURCE CONTROL MECHANISM THROUGH REPUTATION-BASED SCHEDULING IN HETEROGENEOUS DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMSMasnida Hussin, Rohaya LatipThe service-oriented distributed systems such as Grids and Clouds are unified computing platform that connect and share heterogeneous resources including computation resource, storage resource, information resource and knowledge resource. While these systems provide a vast amount of computing power their reliability are often hard to be guaranteed. It is due to the increased complexity of processing (e.g., overhead, latency) that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 7,047 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDistributed Amplify and Forward Cooperation While Maintaining Transmission FreedomL. Chen, R. Carrasco, I. WassellProblem statement: This study proposes a novel Distributed Amplify and-Forward (DAF) cooperative scheme, achieving higher diversity order and yet maintaining the same transmission freedom as the conventional Amplify-and-Forward (AF) scheme. In the DAF scheme, a user’s transmitted symbols are partitioned into several sequences in order to be relayed by different users. Approach: In the cooperative network, each user still uses … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 2 Aug 2012 · 7,376 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDistributed Cluster Based Routing Technique with Multiple Sinks for Wireless Sensor NetworksS. V. Manisekaran, R. VenkatesanProblem Statement: In order to reduce or minimize energy consumption and to improve bandwidth utilization in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), it was essential to consider its architecture in the network topology, power consumption, data rate and fault tolerance. Our objective is to formulate an effective cluster formation of nodes with multiple sinks to reduce power consumption and minimize the data … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 28 Jun 2012 · 6,865 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDynamic Distributed Intrusion Detection System Based on Mobile Agents with Fault ToleranceR. Sasikumar, D. ManjulaProblem statement: In earlier days, each and every individual system has particular IDS to the particular system and due to this particular technique there are many drawbacks and much more drawbacks in the system side networks. “All processes used in discovery of unauthorized uses of network or computer devices” Detection of unusual and abnormal activity/events in real-time. Detects break-ins or … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 26 May 2012 · 6,929 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDynamic Approach to Defend Against Distributed Denial of Service Attacks Using an Adaptive Spin Lock Rate Control MechanismR. Anurekha, K. Duraiswamy, A. Viswanathan et al.Problem statement: The last decade has seen many prominent Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks on high profile webservers. In this study, we deal with DDoS attacks by proposing a dynamic reactive defense system using an adaptive Spin Lock Rate control (D3SLR). D3SLR identifies malicious traffic flow towards a target system based on the volume of traffic flowing towards the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 17 Feb 2012 · 7,062 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Distributed Coverage and Target Tracking Algorithm for Wireless Sensor NetworksM. Senthamilselvi, N. DevarajanProblem statement: Due to communication, processing and energy constraints, tracking in sensor networks creates different challenges. Since existing algorithms utilized the information from all the sensors for tracking, it results in higher expenditure of energy and reduced lifetime for the network. Approach: We propose to develop a distributed coverage and target tracking algorithm for wireless sensor networks. Tracking issue is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 6 Jan 2012 · 6,698 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleGeographical Division Traceback for Distributed Denial of ServiceA. Viswanathan, V. P. Arunachalam, S. KarthikProblem statement: Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) was a serious threat to the internet world that denies the legitimate users from being access the internet by blocking the service. Approach: In this study, we proposed a novel approach, Geographical Division Traceback (GDT) for efficient IP traceback and DDoS defense methodology. DDoS attack was one of the most serious and threatening … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 23 Nov 2011 · 7,129 accessesView PDFCite
