Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUBIQUITOUS PALM DISPLAY AND FINGERTIP TRACKER SYSTEM USING OPENCVSathish Sekar, Shriram K. Vasudevan, Kaushik Velusamy et al.Ubiquitous Computing is the idea of embedding computation onto everyday objects of the environment we live in. It’s the approach towards making technology and computation available everywhere thereby making people interact with abundant information around them in a more natural and friendly manner. Our project, the palm display system is one such approach of using one’s palm as the graphical … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 22 Nov 2013 · 6,925 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractObject Based Middleware for Grid ComputingS. Muruganantham, P. K. Srivastha, KhanaaProblem statement: "Grid" computing has emerged as an important new field, distinguished from conventional distributed computing by its focus on large-scale resource sharing, innovative applications and, in some cases, high-performance orientation. The role of middleware is to ease the task of designing, programming and managing distributed applications by providing a simple, consistent and integrated distributed programming environment. Essentially, middleware is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,339 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIncremental DataGrid Mining Algorithm for Mobility Prediction of Mobile UsersU. Sakthi, R.S. BhuvaneswaranProblem statement: Mobility prediction is the important issue in Personal Communication Systems (PCS). Mobile users moving logs are stored in data grid located in different locations. Distributed data mining algorithm is applied on this moving logs to generate the mobility pattern of mobile users. As new moving logs are added to the data grid, existing mobility pattern becomes invalid and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2009 · 6,775 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCluster Computing: A Mobile Code ApproachR. B. Patel, Manpreet SinghCluster computing harnesses the combined computing power of multiple processors in a parallel configuration. Cluster Computing environments built from commodity hardware have provided a cost-effective solution for many scientific and high-performance applications. In this paper we have presented design and implementation of a cluster based framework using mobile code. The cluster implementation involves the designing of a server named MCLUSTER … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2006 · 6,714 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractENHANCING THE PERFORMANCE OF ADVANCED FINE-GRAINED GRID AUTHORIZATION SYSTEMMaizura Ibrahim, Hamidah Ibrahim, Azizol Abdullah, Rohaya LatipGrid computing is a system that coordinates distributed resources using standards, open, general purpose protocols and interfaces to provide nontrivial quality of services. Usage Control model (UCON) is a new emerging authorization framework that combined features of traditional access control, trust management and digital right management in one abstraction. Adoption of UCON improved the fine-grain of grid authorization policy. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 29 Dec 2014 · 8,672 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Investigation of Using Parallel Genetic Algorithm for Solving the Shortest Path Routing ProblemSalman Yussof, Rina Azlin Razali, Ong Hang SeeProblem statement: Shortest path routing is the type of routing widely used in computer network nowadays. Even though shortest path routing algorithms are well established, other alternative methods may have their own advantages. One such alternative is to use a GA-based routing algorithm. According to previous researches, GA-based routing algorithm has been found to be more scalable and insensitive to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 7,617 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordPerformance Analysis of Message Passing Interface Collective Communication on Intel Xeon Quad-Core Gigabit Ethernet and Infiniband ClustersRoswan Ismail, Nor Asilah Wati Abdul Hamid, Mohamed Othman, Rohaya LatipThe performance of MPI implementation operations still presents critical issues for high performance computing systems, particularly for more advanced processor technology. Consequently, this study concentrates on benchmarking MPI implementation on multi-core architecture by measuring the performance of Open MPI collective communication on Intel Xeon dual quad-core Gigabit Ethernet and InfiniBand clusters using SKaMPI. It focuses on well known collective communication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 9 May 2013 · 7,206 accessesView PDFCite
