Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractNasa Selects Concepts for a New Mission to Titan, the Moon of SaturnRelly Victoria Petrescu, Raffaella Aversa, Antonio Apicella, Florian Ion Tiberiu PetrescuNasa just has selected two new concepts for some new robotic missions, one of which aims to explore potential landing sites on Saturn’s largest moon, Titan. This first concept is named Dragonfly, which is a drone-like rotorcraft that would use the environment on Titan to fly to a number of locations to sample materials and determine surface composition to examine … …Journal of Aircraft and Spacecraft Technology, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 19 Jan 2018 · 12,003 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractBone Microarchitecture by Dentistry Digital X-Ray (BµA-DDX) Software: A Pilot Study of the Analysis of Bone Density using Digital Dental X-RaysAdriane Yaeko Togashi, Adair Santa Catarina, Lucas Renato Piana Batistussi, Guilherme CoelhoThe Bone Microarchitecture by Dentistry Digital X-Ray (BµA-DDX) software was designed to determine jaw bone quality using digital dental X-rays. In order to identify patients with a suspicion of low bone density, a system was developed to evaluate bone microarchitecture through the analysis of samples collected in digital panoramic X-rays. The samples were collectedat two sites of the mandible: alveolar … …Current Research in Dentistry, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 23 Feb 2016 · 7,471 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Evaluation of Thermal Imaging Based Respiration Rate Monitoring in ChildrenFarah AL-Khalidi, Reza Saatchi, Heather Elphick, Derek BurkeProblem statement: An important indicator of an individual’s health is respiration rate. It is the average number of times air is inhaled and exhaled per minute. Existing respiration monitoring methods require an instrument to be attached to the patient’s body during the recording. This is a discomfort to the patient and the instrument can be dislodged from its position. Approach: … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Jul 2012 · 10,531 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImproving Diagnostic Viewing of Medical Images using Enhancement AlgorithmsHanan Saleh S. Ahmed, Md Jan NordinProblem statement: Various images are low quality and difficultly to detect and extract information. Therefore, the image has to get under a process called image enhancement which contains an aggregation of techniques that look for improving the visual aspect of an image. Medical images are one of the fundamental images, because they are used in more sensitive field which is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 18 Oct 2011 · 7,991 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRadiometric Correction of Multitemporal Satellite ImagerySeema Gore Biday, Udhav BhosleProblem statement: Repeated observation of a given area over time yields potential for many forms of change detection analysis. These repeated observations are confounded in terms of radiometric consistency due to changes in sensor calibration over time, differences in illumination, observation angles and variation in atmospheric effects. Also major problem with satellite images is that regions below clouds are not … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2010 · 8,393 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExperiment of Tamper Detection and Recovery Watermarking in Picture Archiving and Communication SystemsSiau-Chuin Liew, Jasni Mohamad ZainProblem statement: Medical images such as x-rays, ultrasounds and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) plays an important role in helping the physicians to diagnose a disease or body conditions. These images can be tampered with existing image processing tools that is easily available. The usage of security measures such as watermarking can protect the integrity of the images. Numerous watermarking schemes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 7,651 accessesView PDFCite
