Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTowards an Integrated Intrusion Detection Monitoring in High Speed NetworksHassen SallayProblem statement: Security Management has become a critical aspect for large scale distributed systems. Particularly, recent Distributed Intrusion Detection Systems (DIDS) schemes in High Speed Networks (HSN) have raised new serious management problems and challenges. Increasing the effectiveness of IDS monitoring is primordial to satisfy the restrictive constraints in such large multi-domains environment for narrow context of HSN. Approach: We … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 30 Jun 2011 · 6,560 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIncreasing Effectiveness of IDS to Improve Security in IntranetUmesh Kumar Singh, A. K. Ramani, Narendra S. Chaudhari, Vandana GuptaToday Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are becoming one of the most important tools for intranet security. Research regarding Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) has become more active with the recent increases in illegal accesses to computer systems. Many researchers focus only on the techniques or mechanisms for detecting intrusions automatically, without considering the security of IDSs themselves. When an intruder attacks … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2005 · 7,146 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Efficient Causal Protocol with Forward Error Correction for Mobile Distributed SystemsEduardo Lopez Dominguez, Saul E. Pomares Hernandez, Gustavo Rodriguez Gomez et al.Problem statement: Causal ordering is used in Mobile Distributed Systems (MDS) to reduce the non-determinism induced by four main aspects: host mobility, asynchronous execution, unpredictable communication delays and unreliable communication channels. Some causal protocols have been proposed for MDS. All of these protocols in order to ensure the causal order in unreliable channels use the method of Automatic Repeat Request … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 8,239 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordWeed Detection over Between-Row of Sugarcane Fields Using Machine Vision with Shadow Robustness Technique for Variable Rate Herbicide ApplicatorA. Muangkasem, S. Thainimit, R. Keinprasit, T. IsshikiProblem statement: Uniformly herbicide rate is used as a conventional practice in Thailand for controlling weeds in sugarcane fields. Since weeds usually grow in certain areas with non-uniformly distribution, uniform herbicide rate approach is not suitable and non-sustainable agricultural technique both in terms of economic an environmental aspect. To address these issues, Variable Herbicide Rate (VHR) was introduced. The VHR … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 31 Oct 2010 · 8,232 accessesView PDF Cite
