Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Eigenstructure Assignment for a Static Synchronous CompensatorAhmad N. Al-HusbanProblem statement: Power flow through an AC transmission line is influenced by three basic electrical parameters, which are line impedance, magnitudes and phase-shift angle between the sending and receiving voltages. Therefore, the change in any of the three basic parameters means a change in the power flow through the transmission line. The aims of this research paper are: increase the … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,696 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Comparison of Three-Phase Shunt Active Power Filter AlgorithmsMoleykutty George, Kartik Prasad BasuThe usage of parallel converters is ever increasing. However, the voltage and current harmonics, zero-sequence and negative- sequence components of voltage and current and reactive power present in parallel converters give an alarming signal to power system and power electronic engineers. This research discusses performance of three-phase shunt active power filter (APF) system using three different control techniques namely synchronous … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,814 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFuzzy Logic Controller Based Three-phase Shunt Active Filter for Line Harmonics ReductionC. Sharmeela, M. R. Mohan, G. Uma, J. BaskaranHarmonic distortion is a form of electrical noise. It is a superposition of signals, which are of multiples of fundamental frequency. Proliferation of large power electronic systems results in increased harmonic distortion. Harmonic distortion results in reduction of power quality and system stability. This paper presents fuzzy control applicable for active power filter for three-phase systems, which are comprised of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2007 · 7,111 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSynthesis of Optimal Trajectories with Functions Control at the Level of the Kinematic Drive CouplingsRelly Victoria Virgil Petrescu, Raffaella Aversa, Antonio Apicella et al.The development and diversification of machines and mechanisms with applications in all fields require new scientific researches for the systematization and improvement of existing mechanical systems by creating new mechanisms adapted to modern requirements, which involve increasingly complex topological structures. The modern industry, the practice of designing and building machinery is increasingly based on the results of scientific and applied … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 13 Dec 2017 · 6,383 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSemi Active Tuned Mass Dampers of Buildings: A Simple Control OptionDemetris Demetriou, Nikolaos Nikitas, Konstantinos Daniel TsavdaridisThe present study investigates the effectiveness of a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controlled Variable Damping Semi-Active Tuned Mass Damper (VD-STMD) on reducing the vibration response of an earthquake excited multi-storey structure. The effectiveness of the controlled system is evaluated by comparing the structure’s overall dynamic behavior against that of an equivalent similar structure equipped with a conventional optimally designed passive Tuned Mass … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 30 Oct 2015 · 9,658 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA Wireless Sensor Node Supporting Various Powers Supply and Communication MethodsStefan Gruber, Hannes Reinisch, Hartwig Unterassinger et al.Problem statement: This study presents a wireless sensor node dedicated for in-tire pressure and temperature monitoring. Additional features set it apart from the many different systems available on the highly competitive market. State-of-the-art implementations are mounted on the rim of a tire. Here the sensor node will be mounted on the inner liner of the tire. By moving the sensor … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 12 Jan 2012 · 8,035 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA New Engineering Method for Fuzzy Reliability Analysis of Surge Control in Centrifugal CompressorAhmed Hafaifa, Ferhat Laaouad, Moulod GuemanaProblem statement: The surge phenomenon in the centrifugal compressor, the non-linearities and uncertainties of the compression system make it impossible to use a conventional controller over a wide range of operation. Approach: A new dual fuzzy controller for nonlinear model of compression system was proposed in this study. This fuzzy controller was designed that consisted of active surge control and … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 8,229 accessesView PDF Cite

Review ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSpace ProbesRelly Victoria Virgil PetrescuA space probe is an unmanned space vehicle launched into space to study more or less distant different celestial objects: The Sun, the planets, dwarf planets and small bodies, their satellites, the interplanetary medium or the interstellar medium. A space probe is distinguished from other unmanned spacecraft that remain in Earth orbit. Space probes can take a large number of … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 21 May 2019 · 7,423 accessesView PDF Cite
