Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Efficient Causal Protocol with Forward Error Correction for Mobile Distributed SystemsEduardo Lopez Dominguez, Saul E. Pomares Hernandez, Gustavo Rodriguez Gomez et al.Problem statement: Causal ordering is used in Mobile Distributed Systems (MDS) to reduce the non-determinism induced by four main aspects: host mobility, asynchronous execution, unpredictable communication delays and unreliable communication channels. Some causal protocols have been proposed for MDS. All of these protocols in order to ensure the causal order in unreliable channels use the method of Automatic Repeat Request … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 8,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractModel Checking the Biological Model of Membrane Computing with Probabilistic Symbolic Model Checker by Using Two Biological SystemsRavie Chandren Muniyandi, Abdullah Mohd. Zin, Zarina ShukorProblem statement: Membrane computing formalism has provided better modeling capabilities for biological systems in comparison to conventional mathematical models. Model checking could be used to reason about the biological system in detail and with precision by verifying formally whether membrane computing model meets the properties of the system. Approach: This study was carried to investigate the preservation of properties of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 6,676 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractData Replication Using Read-One-Write-All Monitoring Synchronization Transaction System in Distributed EnvironmentNoraziah Ahmad, Ahmed N. Abdalla, Roslina Mohd SidekNowadays, the demand of transmitted information over networks increase rapidly and the demand for steady bandwidth seems to be out of control. Particularly organizations need to provide updated data to users that might be geographically remote and handling a vast amount of requested data distributed in multiple sites. Problem statement: Replication in distributed environment has become increasingly popular due to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 10 · 30 Jul 2010 · 7,053 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExperimenting the Simulation Strategy of Membrane Computing with Gillespie Algorithm by Using Two Biological Case StudiesRavie Chandren Muniyandi, Abdullah Mohd ZinProblem statement: The evolution rules of membrane computing have been applied in a nondeterministic and maximally parallel way. In order to capture these characteristics, Gillespie’s algorithm has been used as simulation strategy of membrane computing in simulating biological systems. Approach: This study was carried to discuss the simulation strategy of membrane computing with Gillespie algorithm in comparison to the simulation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 5 · 31 May 2010 · 6,943 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCohesive Token Passing Algorithm Utilizing Software AgentsA. Fua’ad Abdulrazzak, Shamala SubramaniamProblem statement: The communications domain has utilized the implementation of protocols for a wide spectrum of applications. This encompasses Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols. MAC protocols have been extensively researched from several angles. This encompasses the implementation in the area of Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM) networks and Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANET). Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUsing an Adaptative Fuzzy-Logic System to Optimize the Performances and the Reduction of Chattering Phenomenon in the Control of Induction MotorM. M. Krishan, L. Barazane, A. KhwaldehProblem statement: Neural networks and fuzzy inference systems are becoming well-recognized tools of designing an identifier/controller capable of perceiving the operating environment and imitating a human operator with high performance. Also, by combining these two features, more versatile and robust models, called “neuro-fuzzy” architectures have been developed. The mo Approach: Motivation behind the use of neuro-fuzzy approaches was based on … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2010 · 7,526 accessesView PDFCite
