Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractBluetooth Wireless Network Authentication Using Radio Frequency Communication ProtocolGhossoon M. Waleed, M. Faizal, R. B. Ahmad et al.Problem statement: Bluetooth has emerged as very popular ad hoc network standard today. Bluetooth network applications include wireless synchronization, e-mail/internet/intranet access using local personal computer connections, hidden computing through automated applications and networking. Due to this ability, it is not impossible for the network to receive any attack. Approach: In this study, we developed an algorithm to build new software … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 7,823 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimal Power Multicast Problem in Wireless Mesh Networks by Using a Hybrid Particle Swarm OptimizationAllam Maalla, Chen Wei, Haitham J. TahaProblem statement: Most mobile nodes in a wireless ad hoc network are powered by energy limited batteries; the limited battery lifetime imposes a constraint on the network performance. Therefore, power consumption of network operations is critical and subject to optimization. Approach: A novel hybrid PSO was proposed for solving the minimum power multicast problem in wireless ad-hoc networks. The MPM … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,814 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Channel Adaptive Energy Efficient and Fair Scheduling Media Access Control Protocol for Mobile AdHoc NetworksP. Priakanth, P. ThangarajProblem statement: A major drawback in the existing protocols in dealing with energy management issues is that the time varying nature of the wireless channels among the ad hoc nodes is ignored. Approach: This study proposed a channel adaptive energy efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol, for efficient packets scheduling and queuing in an ad hoc network, with time varying … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2009 · 7,557 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTCP Optimal Performance in Wireless Networks ApplicationsEmad Qaddoura, Abdelghani Daraiseh, Wesam Al Mobaideen et al.Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) consists of dynamic topology as nodes in the network are mobile, and connected via wireless links. The nodes are grouped in clusters for the purpose of routing. Nodes within the cluster communicate directly. However, nodes communicate outside the cluster through a centralized node that is called a clusterhead. An elected clusterhead is assigned for communication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 May 2006 · 6,422 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImpact of Asymmetric Encryption Algorithms in a VANETEdward David Moreno, Leila C.M. Buarque, Florêncio Natan et al.This paper describes the impact of using asymmetric encryption algorithms, with emphasis on RSA, ECC and Multivariate Quadratic Quasigroup (MQQ) algorithms, in a scenario of Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET). In the research we used the simulator NS-3 with specific module for vehicular networks. The algorithms were implemented in C and were included in NS-3. The results, even in a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 12 · 30 Jan 2016 · 6,857 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Cross-Layered Path Stability Based Routing Protocol for WiMAX NetworksM. Deva Priya, M. L. ValarmathiIn IEEE 802.16, a Subscriber Station (SS) is battery powered with limited capacity. A SS can be made to operate for longer durations by deploying power saving features or by using relay stations. Multi-hop communication conserves power, but finding an optimal path to the destination is monotonous. Path stability indicates how stable a path is and how long it can … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 9 Sep 2013 · 6,677 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Dynamic Approach for Rate Adaptation in Mobile Adhoc NetworksPalaniammal Senniappan, Suganya SubramaniamA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of mobile nodes with no fixed infrastructure. The absence of central authorization facility in dynamic and distributed environment affects the optimal utilization of resources like, throughput, power and bandwidth. Rate adaptation is the key technique to optimize the resource throughput. Some recently proposed rate adaptations use Request to Send/Clear to Send … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 6 · 8 Jun 2013 · 6,678 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAdaptive Hybrid Mobile Agent Protocol for Wireless Multihop Internet AccessA. Velmurugan, R. RajaramInternet-based Mobile Ad Hoc Networking (MANET) is an emerging technology that supports self-organizing mobile networking infrastructures. This is expected to be of great use in commercial applications for the next generation Internet users. A number of technical challenges are faced today due to the heterogeneous, dynamic nature of this hybrid MANET. A new hybrid routing scheme AODV_ALMA is proposed, which … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2006 · 6,124 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOn the Need of Source Address for Route-Error Delivery in 6LoWPANShafique Ahmad ChaudhryLow-power Wireless Personal Area Networks (LoWPANs) comprise devices that conform to the IEEE standard 802.15.4. These networks need to be connected with other wireless and wired networks in order to maximize the utilization of information and other resources which are mainly associated with the Internet Protocol (IP)-based networks. The transmission of IPv6 over Low Power Wireless Personal Area Networks (6LoWPANs), … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 8 · 15 Nov 2015 · 6,292 accessesView PDFCite
