Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEffective Test Case Selection and Prioritization in Regression TestingAlbert Pravin, Subramaniam SrinivasanRegression testing is used to ensure the validity of the changed software. Due to time budget and entire test suite could not be executed. Hence it becomes an essential to minimize the test suite and choose a subset of test cases from test suite which will be executed in least time and has the capability to cover all the faults. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 28 May 2013 · 7,140 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordQuality of Service Policy for IEEE 802.11 Networks with Service Rate Selection based on Fairness IndexLia Toledo Moreira Mota, Alexandre de Assis Mota, Luis Fernando FontolanProblem statement: The IEEE802.11 standard states that all stations have the same probability of accessing the network, but does not consider important parameters such as transmission rates and signal-to-noise ratios. However, these networks present an anomaly that allows a station with a low transmission rate to use the communication channel for a long time. Approach: In this context, this study … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,660 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Efficient and Effective Immune Based ClassifierShahram Golzari, Shyamala Doraisamy, Md Nasir Sulaiman, Nur Izura UdzirProblem statement: Artificial Immune Recognition System (AIRS) is most popular and effective immune inspired classifier. Resource competition is one stage of AIRS. Resource competition is done based on the number of allocated resources. AIRS uses a linear method to allocate resources. The linear resource allocation increases the training time of classifier. Approach: In this study, a new nonlinear resource allocation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 7,768 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordNovel Moment Features Extraction for Recognizing Handwritten Arabic LettersGheith Abandah, Nasser AnssariProblem statement: Offline recognition of handwritten Arabic text awaits accurate recognition solutions. Most of the Arabic letters have secondary components that are important in recognizing these letters. However these components have large writing variations. We targeted enhancing the feature extraction stage in recognizing handwritten Arabic text. Approach: In this study, we proposed a novel feature extraction approach of handwritten Arabic … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2009 · 7,495 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordRule Extraction from Radial Basis Functional Neural Networks by Using Particle Swarm OptimizationM. R. Senapati, I. Vijaya, P. K. DashRadial basis functional neural networks (RBFNN) provide an outstanding possibility for generating rules for solving pattern classification problems. One of the most important factors in RBFNN is finding out the center and spread. This paper examines rules extracted from RBF networks trained by Particle swarm Optimization (PSO). The selection of the RBFNN centers, spreads and the network weights can be … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 6,784 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEfficacious Geospatial Information Retrieval Using Density Probabilistic Document Correlation ApproachR. Uma, MuneeswaranInformation Retrieval (IR) is a profound technique to find information that addresses the need of query. Processing of normal text is easier and information can be retrieved efficiently. There are plenty of algorithms in hand to carry out the normal text retrieval. Whereas retrieving geospatial information is very complex and requires additional operations to be performed. Since geospatial data contain … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 16 Feb 2013 · 7,011 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordImproving Term Extraction Using Particle Swarm Optimization TechniquesMohammad Syafrullah, Naomie SalimProblem statement: Term extraction is one of the layers in the ontology development process which has the task to extract all the terms contained in the input document automatically. The purpose of this process is to generate list of terms that are relevant to the domain of the input document. In the literature there are many approaches, techniques and algorithms … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,138 accessesView PDF Cite
