Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractArithmetic Encoding Based Dynamic Source Routing for Ad-Hoc NetworksAjay Koul, R. B. Patel, V. K. BhatAn ad hoc network is a collection of mobile stations forming a temporary network without the aid of any centralized coordinator. Routing messages are an essential component of Mobile Adhoc Networks, as each packet needs to be passed quickly through intermediate nodes from source to destination. Internal threats due to changes in the node behaviour that target the routing discovery … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 6,609 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign and Development of Broadband Inverted E-shaped Patch Microstrip Array Antenna For 3G Wireless NetworkNorbahiah Misran, Mohammad Tariqul Islam, Ng Kok JiunnMicrostrip patch antenna has been received tremendous attention since the last two decades and now it becomes a major component in the development of Smart Antenna System for Third-Generation Wireless Network proposed by the ITU-R under the banner of IMT-2000. Smart antenna consists of an array of antennas associated with it a base-band hardware and control unit (inclusive of the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2008 · 7,126 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHeterogeneous GPRS-WLAN Integration Based on Ad-Hoc NetworksS. LouvrosIn heterogeneous microcellular networks like 802.11(WLAN)-GPRS, users can roam around through vertical handoffs. The major problem in heterogeneous networks is that they support different QoS requirements and the users suffer sudden changes in data rates. This study proposes certain routing algorithms to extend the service time of mobile handsets in the wireless network with higher available data rate, thus improving … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 6,540 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStochastic Estimator-Based Wireless Traffic Control SchemesFrancis Joseph Ogwu, Mohammad Talib, Ganiyu Adesola AderounmuRecent works on Available Bit Rate (ABR) traffic control have generated efficient control schemes for ABR traffic on Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) network. This study examines the improved performance envisaged if these control schemes adjust dynamically to the varying ABR bandwidth capacity in a stochastic manner instead of conventional deterministic approach .The performance difference between setting explicit rate deterministically for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2007 · 7,102 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA 4⨯1 L-probe fed Inverted Hybrid E-H Microstrip Patch Antenna Array for 3G ApplicationMohammad Tariqul Islam, Norbahiah Misran, Ng Kok JiunnThis paper presents a compact and broadband microstrip patch antenna array (BMPAA) with uniform linear array configuration of 4x1 element for 3G applications. The 4⨯1 BMPAA was designed and developed by integrating new patch shape Hybrid E-H shape, L-probe feeding, inverted patch structure with air filled dielectric microstrip patch antenna (MPA) element. The array was constructed using two dielectric layer … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2007 · 7,477 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnhanced Route Re-Construction Method for Associativity Based Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANET)Fawaz A.M. Masoud, Said A. Shaar, Ayman Murad, Ghassan KanaanA mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) is wireless network composed of mobile nodes that are dynamically and randomly located in such a manner that the interconnections between nodes are capable of changing on a continual basis. In order to facilitate communication within the network, a routing protocol is used to discover routes between nodes. The primary goal of such an ad-hoc … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2006 · 6,546 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Enhancement on Voice using VAD Algorithm and Cepstral AnalysisT. Ravichandran, K. D. SamyThe Transport of Voice Over Network has been existing for a long time. Due to the bad quality of speech and absence of useful service, it has not yet been widely spread. The benefits of reduced cost and bandwidth savings of carrying voice over data network is associated with Quality of Service (QoS). Many different techniques and protocols are used … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2006 · 6,587 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStudy of Network on Chip resources allocation for QoS ManagementAbdelhamid HELALI, Adel SOUDANI, Jamila BHAR, Salem NASRIThe increasing complexity of integrated circuits and application requirements drive the research of new on-chip interconnection architectures. A network on chip draws on concepts inherited from distributed systems and computer networks subject areas to interconnect IP cores in a structured and scalable way. The main goal pursued is to achieve superior bandwidth when compared to conventional on-chip bus architectures. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2006 · 6,311 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractManaging a High Speed LAN using Distributed Artificial IntelligenceIbrahiem M. M-El-EmaryThis study is concerned with a practical application of distributed artificial intelligence for managing the high data rate bus structured local area computer network that uses deterministic multiple access protocol. In the selected network that is managed using distributed artificial intelligence, the dynamic sharing of the available bandwidth among stations is achieved by forming "train to which each station may … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2006 · 6,989 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAdaptive Reliable Efficient Multicasting Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksK. Baskaran, A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar, V. Sumathy, J. Lakshmana PerumalThe Adaptive Reliable Multicast Protocol (ARM) with intermediate node support is introduced to guarantee message delivery to all multicast receivers in mobile ad hoc environment. ARM distributes multicast message cache and retransmission tasks among intermediate nodes to offer a scalable reliable multicasting. Due to limited memory and node’s mobility, ARM defines intermediate node as all nodes which overhear multicast messages. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 6,821 accessesView PDFCite
