Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTHE RATIONAL BEHIND THE SERVAL NETWORK LAYER FOR RESILIENT COMMUNICATIONSPaul Gardner-Stephen, Andrew Bettison, Romana Challans, Jeremy LakemanThe Internet Protocol is the dominant network protocol used in public networks today and has proven to be highly effective for wired networks and wireless networks alike, provided network address allocation can be coordinated. Mesh networks consisting of highly mobile devices present new challenges, especially when the assumption of coordination does not apply. One situation where coordination is not readily … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 7,705 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractLIGHTWEIGHT VIGILANT PROCEDURE TO IMPLEMENT SECURITY MEASURES IN HIGHLY ROVING MILITARY OPERATIONSJ. Udhayan, Rajesh BabuThe performance of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) becomes questionable in highly roving and mission critical application like military operation. Security measures like encryption, authentication, digital signature has been proposed for MANET. However all those mechanisms need some kind of static infrastructure and it is extremely difficult to implement such an infrastructure throughout the military mission. Therefore in this work, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 18 Sep 2013 · 6,641 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of Probabilistic Relay in Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector and Ad Hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector Under Highly Dynamic EnvironmentsRadityo Anggoro, Teruaki Kitasuka, Ryoji Nakamura, Masayoshi AritsugiVehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) are a specific class of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Since vehicles tend to move in a high speed, the network topology is rapidly changed. Thus vehicle’s connectivity problem is one of the interesting issues in VANETs. Ad hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) is an extended version of ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV). … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 22 Jun 2013 · 7,050 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFlooding Attack Aware Secure AODVS. Madhavi, K. DuraiswamyProviding security in a Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a challenging task due to its inherent nature. Flooding is a type of Denial of Service (DoS) attack in MANET. Intentional flooding may lead to disturbances in the networking operation. This kind of attack consumes battery power, storage space and bandwidth. Flooding the excessive number of packets may degrade the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 27 Feb 2013 · 7,535 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCluster Based Data Consistency for Cooperative Caching over Partitionable Mobile Adhoc NetworkP. Kuppusamy, B. KalaavathiProblem statement: Data availability and consistency are foremost issues in Mobile Ad hoc Networks due to the absence of permanent infrastructure. Cooperative caching addresses the data availability issue through coordinating the mobile nodes and sharing the cache copies among them. In the meantime, the mobile node must ensure the staleness of cache copies. The consistency maintenance resolves the staleness of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 10 Jul 2012 · 6,853 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSecure Packet Encryption and Key Exchange System in Mobile Ad hoc NerworkSudhakar Sengan, S. Chenthur PandianProblem statement: Mobile Ad-hoc Network is infrastructureless network supported by no fixed trusted infrastructure. The packets had a chance to drop or hacked by eavesdropper during transmission. So, encryption method is required for sending and receiving packet in secret manner. Approach: In this approach, the block and key size had been increased by 256 bits. When compared to Rijndael algorithm, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 17 Mar 2012 · 7,387 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRealization of Fault Tolerant Routing Protocol for ZigbeeSharmila Sankar, SankaranarayananProblem statement: Increased use of handheld devices and sensor devices pose problems in existing routing protocols. The performance of the existing routing protocols deteriorates very much on these dense scenarios. Control overheads are very important parameter in deciding the performance of routing protocols, which are introduced during route discovery and maintenance process. Denser the network, higher is the control overhead … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 2 Mar 2012 · 6,827 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractArtificial Bee Colony based Energy Aware and Energy Efficient Routing ProtocolP. Visu, S. Koteeswaran, J. JanetProblem statement: Network becomes very important technology in the day to day life style of modern computer era, in which the wireless communication become very popular for the last few years. In the same manner, the other wireless network, i.e., ado network is very popular among the researchers in the past few decades. Approach: The Ad hoc networks are defined … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 19 Jan 2012 · 7,095 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparative Performance Evaluation of Routing Algorithms in IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11 with Different Ad Hoc Routing ProtocolP. Anitha, C. ChandrasekarProblem statement: Wireless ADHOC networks are self organized dynamic networks can share wireless channel without any established central control standard for IEEE 802.11. Approach: The most common protocols are AODV, DSDV, DSR in ADHOC used to ensure the data transmission among themselves. To meet the need of low power and low cost IEEE 802.15.4 standard was developed for sensor networks. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,409 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Study of Ad-Hoc Reactive Routing ProtocolsPallavi Khatri, Monika Rajput, Alankar Shastri, Keshav SolankiProblem statement: In this study, an attempt had been made to compare the performance of the reactive ad-hoc routing protocols using OPNET modeler with respect to increasing number of nodes in the network. Approach: In present study, we compared various reactive routing protocols such as Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and Temporally Ordered Routing Algorithm … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 10 · 10 Aug 2010 · 7,753 accessesView PDFCite
