Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordServer Optimization Using Heuristic Algorithms for Dynamic-Split-and-Merge Scheme in Wireless MulticastR. Sukumar, V. VasudevanProblem statement: In order to minimize the overall network traffic in a multiserver system, the number of users served by each server (and hence the group size) should remain constant. As the underlying traffic fluctuates, a split and merge scheme is implemented in a physical server to achieve load balancing. Approach: Minimizing the number of servers during the merge operation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,811 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Adaptive Modulation Scaling Scheme for Quality of Services Ensurance in Wireless Sensor NetwoksYong Yuan, Zongkai Yang, Jianhua HeEnergy consumption has been a key concern of data gathering in wireless sensor networks. Previous research works show that modulation scaling is an efficient technique to reduce energy consumption. However, such technique will also impact on both packet delivery latency and packet loss, therefore, may result in adverse effects on the qualities of applications. In this study, the problem of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2005 · 6,780 accessesView PDF Cite
