Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordThe Effect of Digital Count-Down Display on Signalized Junction PerformanceM. R. Ibrahim, M. R. Karim, F. A. KidwaiIntersections are bottleneck in the highway networks and critical determinant of system’s capacity and safety. Recently, several countdown timers had been installed at intersections in Kuala Lumpur and some other cities in Malaysia. The function of these timers is to aid drivers to judge the amount of time left for them to get the green signal for moving (starting) their … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 7,761 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA Simple Scheme for Improved Performance of Fixed Outage Rate Cellular SystemHussein M.Aziz Basi, M. B.R. MurthyThe traffic characteristic of mobile cellular systems is rather distinct from that of a fixed telephone network. However the system planning and design are still carried out with the tools of conventional traffic theory. In the recent days much work is being done in the performance evaluation of mobile or cellular communication systems in order to develop a system with … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2004 · 7,078 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordImproving Routing Discovery Based Velocity-Aware Probabilistic Using AODV with Link Prediction in Mobile Ad-hoc NetworksZaid BassfarThe current process associated with enhancing the QoS in routing for MANETs has reserved a high importance due to the limitation of available route discovery in dynamic topology. The conventional methods of route discovery schemes in MANETs are commonly designed in order to estimate the number of nodes in routes using the standard probabilistic models. Such models are utilized by … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 8 · 1 Aug 2017 · 7,655 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAnalysis of Hierarchical Diff-EDF Schedulability over Heterogeneous Real-Time Packet NetworksMoutaz Saleh, Zulaiha Ali OthmanPacket networks are currently enabling the integration of traffic with a wide range of characteristics that extend from video traffic with stringent QoS requirements to the best-effort traffic requiring no guarantees. QoS guarantees can be provided in conventional packet networks by the use of proper packet scheduling algorithms. As a computer revolution, many scheduling algorithms have been proposed to provide … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2007 · 6,530 accessesView PDF Cite
