Plant Characteristics and Grain Yield Response to N Fertilization Programs in No-Tillage SystemKesi Liu, Pawel WiatrakProblem statement: Nitrogen application timing and Nitrogen (N) rate are two important factors to influence corn production in No-Tillage (NT) system, but N recommendations may need to be revised due to insufficient rainfall in dryland rain-fed environment. Approach: This study was to determine the effects of two N application timing (planting and split application at planting and V6 corn growth … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 25 Mar 2011 · 8,340 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordThe Application of Multi-Agent Technology on Transient Stability Assessment of Iraqi Super Grid NetworkAfaneen A. Abood, Ahmed N. Abdalla, Shant K. AvakianThe aim of this research is improving the Iraqi control center's capabilities for monitoring and controlling the electrical network by adopting the properties of multi-agent technology to enhance power system transient stability. The idea was demonstrated by two agent's strategy, the first agent is a prediction one that will predict power system instability by a transient stability program using the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 7,321 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordLayout Optimization in a Fitness Industry: An Application of QAP Formulation and Heuristic Approachesİbrahim Miraç Eligüzel, Eren Özceylan, Yakup AtasagunThe Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP) is the problem of determining a one-to-one and onto assignment between two sets, each consisting of n objects (e.g., n facilities and n locations) so as to minimize the sum of the distance × flow associated with pairs of assignments. In this study, QAP formulation is applied to a fitness center to assign the sports … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 4 · 3 May 2021 · 6,681 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordNimble Protein Sequence Alignment in Grid (NPSAG)K. Somasundaram, S. RadhakrishnanIn Bio-Informatics application, the analysis of protein sequence is a kind of computation driven science which has rapidly and quickly growing biological data. Also databases used in these applications are heterogeneous in nature and alignment of protein sequence using physical techniques is expensive, slow and results are not always guaranteed/accurate. So this application requires cross-platform, cost-effective and more computing power … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2008 · 6,921 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordApplication of Unimodular Hill Cipher and RSA Methods to Text Encryption Algorithms Using PythonSamsul Arifin, Dwi Wijonarko, Suwarno, Edwin Kristanto SijabatText encryption is one of the techniques used to maintain the confidentiality of information in digital communications. In this study, we propose to apply a combination of the Unimodular Hill Cipher and RSA methods to a text encryption algorithm using the Python programming language. The Unimodular Hill Cipher method uses an unimodular matrix to replace text characters with encrypted characters, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 5 · 1 Mar 2024 · 6,484 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEUROPEAN CALL OPTION APPLICATION IN INCOMPLETE MARKET-ANALYSIS AND DEVELOPMENTRo’fah Nur Rachmawati, Sufon, Widodo BudihartoOption is derivative instrument that have investment benefit and provide return for the writer and the holder. Option price determination is affected by risk factor. However in Black-Scholes model option price is determined without arbitrage risk affection so it is impossible to take return. In this study, option price formula is constructed to be more represent the condition of financial … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 12 Nov 2013 · 7,174 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSchedule Planning for Repairing Power Supply SystemKuo-Wei Lin, Chein-Jen KangProblem statement: Taiwan is located in the tropical ocean areas. The strong typhoon in summer often causes the collapse of electric transmission towers and results in power outages that seriously affect people’s lives and industrial production. Approach: In light of this situation, this study aims to employ project management techniques of Theory of Constraints (TOC) to develop a practical TOC … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 6 · 24 Mar 2012 · 7,172 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordThe Living Values-Based Contextual Learning to Develop the Students' CharacterKokom KomalasariProblem statement: University has an important role in the process of young generation character education. The character education should be integrated through the living values-based contextual learning model in order to be easier internalized and implemented. This study aimed at describing: (1) the living values-based contextual learning model conceptually in lecturing; (2) the implementation of the living values-based contextual learning … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 6 Mar 2012 · 9,294 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordApplication of Syndication to the Management of Bibliographic CatalogsManuel Blazquez Ochando, Juan-Antonio Martinez-ComecheProblem statement: The process of transmission of bibliographic records between libraries is a complex task, usually treated by the Z39.50 protocol. Approach: The objective of this research is to propose an alternative method to simplify this process, using the techniques of content syndication. Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordReliability Evaluation of Distributed Computer Systems Subject to Imperfect Coverage and Dependent Common-Cause FailuresLiudong Xing, Akhilesh ShresthaImperfect coverage (IPC) occurs when a malicious component failure causes extensive damage due to inadequate fault detection, fault location or fault recovery. Common-cause failures (CCF) are multiple dependent component failures within a system due to a shared root cause. Both imperfect coverage and common-cause failures can exist in distributed computer systems and can contribute significantly to the overall system unreliability. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 6 · 28 Sep 2006 · 6,838 accessesView PDFCite
