Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Fault Tolerant Congestion Aware Routing Protocol for Mobile Adhoc NetworksG. Rajkumar, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: The performance of ad hoc routing protocols will significantly degrade when there are faulty nodes in the network. Packet losses and bandwidth degradation are caused due to congestion and thus, time and energy is wasted during its recovery. The fault tolerant congestion aware routing protocol addresses these problems by exploring the network redundancy through multipath routing. Approach: In … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 23 Feb 2012 · 6,449 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAdaptive Multi-Path Routing for Load Balancing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksS. Soundararajan, R. S. BhuvaneswaranProblem statement: Load balancing and network congestion are the major problems in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET) routing. Most of the existing routing protocols provide solutions to load balancing or congestion or fault-tolerance, individually. Approach: We propose congestion controlled adaptive multi-path routing protocol to achieve load balancing and avoid congestion in MANETs. The algorithm for finding multi-path routes computes fail-safe multiple … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 18 Feb 2012 · 7,451 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIntegrated Resource and Cost Management Scheme for Computational GridsV. K. Manavalasundaram, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: Autonomous decision making and resource scheduling are the main objectives of market-life computational grid. Resource providers and consumers make the scheduling decisions with cost and incentive factors. The two objectives are to maximize the success rate of job execution and to minimize fairness deviation among resources. The challenge is to develop a grid-scheduling scheme that enables individual participants … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 7 Feb 2012 · 6,570 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Optimal Path Management Strategy in Mobile Ad Hoc Network Using Fuzzy and Rough Set TheoryP. Seethalakshmi, M. Joseph Auxilius Jude, G. RajendranProblem statement: Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a network. Most of the existing ad-hoc routing algorithms select the shortest path using various resources. However the selected path may not consider all the network parameters and this would result in link instability in the network. The problems with existing methods are … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 15 Oct 2011 · 7,671 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTuning of a Proportional-Integral-Derivative Controller using Multi-Objective Non Dominated Sorting Particle Swarm Optimization Applied to pH Control in Continuous Stirred Tank ReactorC. Agees Kumar, N. Kesavan NairProblem statement: Most of the control engineering problems are characterized by several, contradicting, conflicting objectives, which have to be satisfied simultaneously. Two widely used methods for finding the optimal solution to such problems are aggregating to a single criterion and using Pareto-optimal solutions. Approach: Non-Dominated Sorting Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (NSPSO) based approach is used in the design of multiobjective … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 19 Jul 2011 · 6,793 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSpeech Enhancement Algorithm Using Sub band Two Step Decision Directed Approach with Adaptive Weighting factor and Noise Masking ThresholdDeepa Dhanaskodi, Shanmugam ArumugamProblem statement: Speech Enhancement plays an important role in any of the speech processing systems like speech recognition, mobile communication, hearing aid. Approach: In this work, human perceptual auditory masking effect is incorporated into the single channel speech enhancement algorithm. The algorithm is based on a criterion by which the audible noise may be masked rather than being attenuated and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 7,130 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImproving Computation Power by Reducing Query Response Time in Peer-to-Peer EnvironmentVelvizhi Nandagopal, D. ManjulaProblem statement: The Peer-to-Peer (P2P) was an emerging model and was being widely adopted in today’s internet computing.P2P traffic contributes the largest portion of the internet traffic which was unnecessary and led to delay. In existing Scalable Bipartite Overlay (SBO) network, Out of “N” peers, one group of peers were probing the messages (or) queries whereas the other group of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 9 Mar 2011 · 6,601 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Effective Queue Management Scheme for Data CommunicationSheela Thavasi, Nityanandam NatarajanProblem statement: The growth in the needs of Internet applications that transmit massive amount of data has led to the emergence of Effective Queue Management. Approach: Queues were used to smooth spikes in incoming packet rates and to allow the router sufficient time for packet processing. When the waiting time is less a better queue management is ensured thereby resulting … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 7,762 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMobile Ad Hoc Network Security for Reactive Routing Protocol with Node Reputation SchemeA. Suresh, Dr. K. DuraiswamyThe mobile node’s reputation in the Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) identifies its trust worthiness for secured multiple data communication. Unknown nature of the node’s communication status for initial period has great impact in the effective data transfer as MANET is self-organized and distributed. Problem statement: The functional operation of the mobile network relies on the trusty cooperation between the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,992 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMulti-Pulse Based Code Excited Linear Predictive Speech Coder with Fine Granularity Scalability for Tonal LanguageSuphattharachai ChomphanProblem statement: The flexible bit-rate speech coder plays an important role in the modern speech communication. The MP-CELP speech coder which is a candidate of the MPEG4 natural speech coder supports a flexible and wide bit-rate range. However, a fine scalability had not been included.
