Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Optimized Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol for Wireless NetworksV. Ponniyin Selvan, S. Senthil KumarProblem statement: Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN) is communication network made up of mesh routers and mesh clients, with mesh routers forming the backbone of the network. The WMN can be accessed by other networks through gateways and bridging functions in the mesh routers. The mesh clients can either be static or mobile with an option of forming a client mesh … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 21 Jun 2012 · 7,168 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Improved Location aided Cluster Based Routing Protocol with Intrusion Detection System in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksS. Mangai, A. TamilarasiProblem statement: Routing and security are the main challenges for ad hoc networks due to dynamic topology as well as resource constraints. A designed protocol must provide scalable routing with better security. Lack of any central coordination and shared wireless medium makes them more vulnerable to attacks than wired networks. And also resource constraints such as limited energy and size … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 4 Apr 2011 · 7,107 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Effective Contention Aware Stable Path Finding Approach to Provide Quality of Service in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksD. S. Thenmozhi, M. RajaramProblem statement: The application of Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) has been increasing every day. Most applications that attract interest for use in current wired networks (e.g. video conferencing, on line movies and camera enabled instant messenger) would attract interest for MANETs also. Many applications that use MANETs include multimedia data that require Quality of Service (QoS) support for effective … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 6,745 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Analysis of Power Aware Congestion Control Multipath Multicast Protocol for Mobile Ad hoc NetworkDuraiswamy Karuppaswamy, Vijayaragavan ShanmugamProblem statement: In MANETs, wireless link transmission errors, mobility and congestion are major causes for packet loss. Mobility may cause packet loss in different ways. Whereas congestion in a network occurs, whenever the demands exceed the maximum capacity of a communication link especially when multiple hosts try to access a shared media simultaneously. Approach: In this study, we proposed a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 2 Nov 2010 · 7,044 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractNodes Density and Broadcast Management in Heterogeneous Environments of Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksEssam Natsheh, Khalid BuraggaProblem statement: The research presented in this study looks into Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) environment that has varying node densities, called heterogeneous density environment. Such environment can be roughly associated with situations varying from areas struck by disasters to normal city environments. Approach: This study improved the performance of existing MANETs routing protocols by reducing the communication overhead incurred during … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,332 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractArithmetic Encoding Based Dynamic Source Routing for Ad-Hoc NetworksAjay Koul, R. B. Patel, V. K. BhatAn ad hoc network is a collection of mobile stations forming a temporary network without the aid of any centralized coordinator. Routing messages are an essential component of Mobile Adhoc Networks, as each packet needs to be passed quickly through intermediate nodes from source to destination. Internal threats due to changes in the node behaviour that target the routing discovery … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 6,609 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Analysis of Clustering Protocols in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksSharmila J. Francis, Elijah B. RajsinghNetwork clustering is an important technique widely used in efficient MANETs network management, hierarchical routing protocol design, network modeling, Quality of Service, etc. Recently many researchers are focusing on clustering which is one of the fundamental problems in mobile ad hoc networks. This article presents the descriptions of recently proposed clustering algorithms and is categorized into different approaches that support … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 6,950 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Novel Distributed Clustering Algorithm for Mobile Ad-hoc NetworksSahar Adabi, Sam Jabbehdari, Amirmasoud Rahmani, Sepideh AdabiThis paper proposed a new Distributed Score Based Clustering Algorithm (DSBCA) for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs).In MANETs, select suitable nodes in clusters as cluster heads are so important. The proposed Clustering Algorithm considers the Battery Remaining, Number of Neighbors, Number of Members, and Stability in order to calculate the node's score with a linear algorithm. After each node calculates its … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 7,119 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHybrid Optimize Strategy based QoS Route Algorithm for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksFu Peng, Zhang DeyunIt is very difficult to find feasible QoS (Quality of service) routes in the mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), because of the nature constrains of it, such as dynamic network topology, wireless communication link and limited process capability of nodes. In order to reduce average cost in flooding path discovery scheme of the traditional MANETs routing protocols and increase the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2006 · 6,548 accessesView PDFCite
