Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Performance Study of Reactive Multicast Routing Protocols in Virtual Class Room Using Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkS. Vijayaragavan, K. Duraiswamy, B. Kalaavathi, S. MadhaviProblem statement: A great deal of excitement has recently propelled Mobile Learning to the forefront of educational technology. The exponential growth of mobile technology in the recent years, increase in the availability of high-bandwidth network, advances in wireless technologies and popularity of handheld devices, have opened up new accessibility opportunities for education. Approach: Virtual class room using MANET had been … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2009 · 6,879 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of Stable Weight-Based on Demand Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkOon Chong Hsi, Azizol AbdullahProblem statement: A MANET is an autonomous collection of mobile users that communicate over relatively bandwidth constrained wireless links. Since the nodes are mobile, the network topology may change rapidly and unpredictably over time. Approach: A Stable Weight-based On demand Routing Protocol (SWORP) that uses the weight-based route strategy to select a stable route was created by Wang. But SWORP … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2009 · 6,933 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of Modified AODV for Load BalancingAmita Rani, Mayank DaveAODV is a prominent routing protocol for MANET that uses hop count as a path selection metric. However, AODV has no means to convey traffic load on current route. This study focuses on introducing a new metric, Aggregate Interface Queue Length (AIQL), in AODV in order to deal with load balancing issues. Performance evaluation through simulation shows that the modified … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2007 · 7,110 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUtilization of AODV in Wireless Ad Hoc NetworksZeyad M. Alfawaer, GuiWei Hua, Nidal A. HamdehAODV is a mature and widely accepted routing protocol for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET), it has low processing and memory overhead and low network utilization, and works well even in high mobility situation. We modified AODV to use these dominating sets, resulting in the AODV-DS protocol. Our contribution in addressing the fragility of a minimum connected dominating set in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2007 · 7,162 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDistributed Clusterhead Architecture for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksEmad Qaddoura, Wesam AlMobaideen, Ahmad OmariMobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) consists of dynamic topology as nodes in the network are mobile, and connected via wireless links. The nodes are grouped in clusters for the purpose of routing. Nodes within the cluster communicate directly. However, nodes communicate outside the cluster through a centralized node that is called a clusterhead. An elected clusterhead is assigned for communication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2006 · 6,809 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRouting and the Impact of Group Mobility Model in VANETsRaad S. Al-QassasGroup vehicular applications could play a vital role in our life, whether these applications are safety-oriented or convenience-oriented applications. The group concept has also been used in support of many solutions in VANETs. Reference Point Group Mobility model (RPGM) is a popular group mobility model and has been used heavily in the literature. In order to study the impact of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 4 · 17 May 2016 · 7,164 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractADOPEL: ADAPTIVE DATA COLLECTION PROTOCOL USING REINFORCEMENT LEARNING FOR VANETSAhmed Soua, Hossam AfifiEfficient propagation of information over a vehicular wireless network has usually remained the focus of the research community. Although, scanty contributions have been made in the field of vehicular data collection and more especially in applying learning techniques to such a very changing networking scheme. These smart learning approaches excel in making the collecting operation more reactive to nodes mobility … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 22 Jul 2014 · 8,418 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Cross-Layered Path Stability Based Routing Protocol for WiMAX NetworksM. Deva Priya, M. L. ValarmathiIn IEEE 802.16, a Subscriber Station (SS) is battery powered with limited capacity. A SS can be made to operate for longer durations by deploying power saving features or by using relay stations. Multi-hop communication conserves power, but finding an optimal path to the destination is monotonous. Path stability indicates how stable a path is and how long it can … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 9 Sep 2013 · 6,677 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of Probabilistic Relay in Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector and Ad Hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector Under Highly Dynamic EnvironmentsRadityo Anggoro, Teruaki Kitasuka, Ryoji Nakamura, Masayoshi AritsugiVehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) are a specific class of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Since vehicles tend to move in a high speed, the network topology is rapidly changed. Thus vehicle’s connectivity problem is one of the interesting issues in VANETs. Ad hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) is an extended version of ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV). … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 22 Jun 2013 · 7,054 accessesView PDFCite
