Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStudy on Nitrogen Concentration of Corn HybridsPravin Gautam, Dawn Gustafson, Zeno Wicks IIIProblem statement: Though Nitrogen (N) is vital in different physiological and developmental processes in plants and animals, it poses several environmental, nutritional and health problems, if present in excess amounts. Reduction in excess input of N into the soil, thereby reducing environmental problems and consequently nutritional and health problems, can be achieved by balancing their concentration in animal feed. Therefore, … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 10 Mar 2011 · 8,273 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractJob Type Approach for Deciding Job Scheduling in Grid Computing SystemsAsef AL-Khateeb, Rosni Abdullah, Nur’Aini Abdul RashidProblem statement: Meta-scheduling has become very important due to the increased number of submitted jobs for execution. Approach: We considered the job type in the scheduling decision that was not considered previously. Each job can be categorized into two types namely, data-intensive and computational-intensive in a specific ratio. Job ratio reflected the exact level of the job type in two … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2009 · 6,829 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIncremental DataGrid Mining Algorithm for Mobility Prediction of Mobile UsersU. Sakthi, R.S. BhuvaneswaranProblem statement: Mobility prediction is the important issue in Personal Communication Systems (PCS). Mobile users moving logs are stored in data grid located in different locations. Distributed data mining algorithm is applied on this moving logs to generate the mobility pattern of mobile users. As new moving logs are added to the data grid, existing mobility pattern becomes invalid and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2009 · 6,775 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExploring Strategies for Parallel Computing of RS Data Assimilation with SWAP-GAShamim Akhter, Kiyoshi Honda, Yann Chemin, Putchong UthayopasAn agro-hydrological simulation model is useful for agriculture monitoring. One issue in running such model is parameter identification, especially when the target area is large such as provincial or country level. Remote Sensing (RS) provides us with useful information over large area. RS cannot observe input parameters of agro-hydrological models directly. However, a method to estimate input parameters of such … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2007 · 7,209 accessesView PDFCite

The application provides useful insights to address crucial points such as user interests into a particular page, server load balancing, Web site reorganization, clustering of similar browsing patterns, classification of user profiles, content caching or … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 6,783 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTowards a Scalable File System on Computer Clusters Using DeclusteringVu Anh Nguyen, Samuel Pierre, Dougoukolo KonaréThis study addresses the scalability issues involving file systems as critical components of computer clusters, especially for commercial applications. Given that wide striping is an effective means of achieving scalability as it warrants good load balancing and allows node cooperation, we choose to implement a new data distribution scheme in order to achieve the scalability of computer clusters. We suggest … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 6,516 accessesView PDFCite
