Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesWarped Optical-Flow Inter-Frame Reconstruction for Ultrasound Image EnhancementBalza Achmad, Mohd Marzuki Mustafa, Aini HussainProblem statement: Optical flow inter-frame enhancement is one of the techniques to improve the quality of ultrasound images by reducing the speckle noise. The performance depends on accuracy of the optical flow inter-frame reconstruction which is a part of the technique. The speckle noise of an ultrasound image forms certain pattern, of which size of the speckle varies depends on … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 6 Aug 2011 · 7,215 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesMyocardial Motion Analysis of Echocardiography Images using Optical Flow Radial Direction DistributionSlamet Riyadi, Mohd Marzuki Mustafa, Aini HussainProblem statement: Myocardial motion is important information for physicians in diagnosing cardiac abnormalities. The motion vector of myocardial can be computed using optical flow technique, which then can be further analyzed based on its magnitude and angle. In practice, physicians are not concern about the angle of vector itself, but are more interested on whether a segment is moving to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 28 Jun 2011 · 6,637 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesA Genetic Algorithm for the Segmentation of Known Touching ObjectsEdgar Scavino, Dzuraidah Abdul Wahab, Hassan Basri et al.Problem statement: Segmentation is the first and fundamental step in the process of computer vision and object classification. However, complicate or similar colour pattern add complexity to the segmentation of touching objects. The objective of this study was to develop a robust technique for the automatic segmentation and classification of touching plastic bottles, whose features were previously stored in a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2009 · 7,128 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesHistogram of Intensity Feature Extraction for Automatic Plastic Bottle Recycling System Using Machine VisionSuzaimah Ramli, Mohd Marzuki Mustafa, Aini Hussain, Dzuraidah Abdul WahabCurrently, many recycling activities adopt manual sorting for plastic recycling that relies on plant personnel who visually identify and pick plastic bottles as they travel along the conveyor belt. These bottles are then sorted into the respective containers. Manual sorting may not be a suitable option for recycling facilities of high throughput. It has also been noted that the high … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 6 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,086 accessesView PDF Cite
