Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesDetecting an Anomaly Behavior through Enhancing the Mechanism of Packet FilteringMohammed Nazeh Abdul Wahid, Azizol AbdullahThe fundamental task of the Network Traffic Analysis is the ability of capturing and monitoring all the network traffics (incoming and outgoing) for local area network LAN and how the network analyzer is able to analyze and detect errors or any type of suspicious activities such as intruders. The idea of this research is to use flexible packet filtering to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 1 Sep 2015 · 6,950 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesMobility and Handover Technique in Heterogeneous Wireless NetworksRadhwan Abdullah, Zuriati Zukarnain, Farzaneh Masoumiyan, Azizol AbdullahThe management techniques for Mobile IPv6 between different wireless technologies are very important to complete the handover process with the least possible delay. In the fast handover, when a mobile node moves to another network, it needs to do handover operations. These operations have a severe impact on the handover latency. This paper proposes an Enhanced Advanced Duplicate Address Detection … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2015 · 6,752 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesENHANCING THE PERFORMANCE OF ADVANCED FINE-GRAINED GRID AUTHORIZATION SYSTEMMaizura Ibrahim, Hamidah Ibrahim, Azizol Abdullah, Rohaya LatipGrid computing is a system that coordinates distributed resources using standards, open, general purpose protocols and interfaces to provide nontrivial quality of services. Usage Control model (UCON) is a new emerging authorization framework that combined features of traditional access control, trust management and digital right management in one abstraction. Adoption of UCON improved the fine-grain of grid authorization policy. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 29 Dec 2014 · 8,672 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesRESOURCE BROKER MANAGEMENT BY ADOPTING SELF-ADAPTIVE MULTI-INSTANCE BROKER SCHEDULING IN GRID COMPUTINGBakri Yahaya, Rohaya Latip, Azizol Abdullah, Mohamed OthmanA grid resource broker seeks to assign the appropriate jobs to the appropriate resources as part of resource management in the multi-grid environment. Multi instances of the broker system provides multiple instances of brokers to simultaneously process jobs between multiple resources in a hierarchical cluster grid environment. In this study, the multi-instance broker is developed using grid resource broker taxonomy … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 29 Dec 2014 · 8,873 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesA CLUSTERING-BASED HYBRID REPLICA CONTROL PROTOCOL FOR HIGH AVAILABILITY IN GRID ENVIRONMENTRohaya Latip, Zulaile Mabni, Hamidah Ibrahim et al.In recent years, with the emergence of grid computing system, the number of distributed sites has become very large. When thousands of sites involved in a grid computing system, data replication can improve data availability, communication cost and provide fault-tolerance in the system. In the literature, many replica control protocols have been proposed for managing replicated data. However, in large … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 24 Dec 2014 · 8,487 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesINTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM IN SECURE SHELL TRAFFIC IN CLOUD ENVIRONMENTMehdi Barati, Azizol Abdullah, NurIzura Udzir et al.Due to growth of Cloud computing usage, the need to apply encrypted protocols to provide confidentiality and integrity of data increases dramatically. Attacker can take advantage of these protocols to hide the intrusion and evade detection. Many traditional attack detection techniques have been proposed to provide security in the networks but none of them can be implemented properly in encrypted … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 26 Jun 2014 · 7,851 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesAN EVENT DRIVEN SIMULATION FOR ADAPTIVE GENTLE RANDOM EARLY DETECTION (AGRED) ALGORITHMOmid Seifaddini, Azizol Abdullah, Shamala SubramaniamSimulations are used to find optimum answers for problems in wide areas. Active queue management algorithms such as RED, GRED, typically use simulators like ns2 which is an open source simulator or OPNET, OMNET which are commercial simulators. However, beside the benefits of using simulators like having defined modules, parameters. There are problems such as complexity, large integrated components and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 13 May 2014 · 7,009 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesLoss Discrimination Algorithm for Wired/Wireless NetworksLiw Jia Seng, Mohd Noor Derahman, Azizol AbdullahProblem statement: Wireless technology has far growing with an increasing demand of the Wireless networking technologies recent years. The wireless access network and cellular networks are being used to support their need. It is usually connected to a wired backbone network. TCP is used to handle the congestion in wired network. However, it is not well suited for hybrid network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 7,498 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesPerformance Evaluation of Stable Weight-Based on Demand Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkOon Chong Hsi, Azizol AbdullahProblem statement: A MANET is an autonomous collection of mobile users that communicate over relatively bandwidth constrained wireless links. Since the nodes are mobile, the network topology may change rapidly and unpredictably over time. Approach: A Stable Weight-based On demand Routing Protocol (SWORP) that uses the weight-based route strategy to select a stable route was created by Wang. But SWORP … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2009 · 6,928 accessesView PDF Cite
