The call for papers
Read the original call: description and topics
This special issues covers the whole field of materials science and technology. The attention should be focused on topics related to the use of advanced materials in the aerospace industry. However, as it is well known, all the technologies and materials firstly developed in the aerospace sector could have some relevancies in other industrial sectors, such as automotive, maritime and transports in general, or areas with any possible link to applications, i.e. wind energy.
To set a thematic focus beyond the area of application, we are specifically looking for contributions on:
- Additive manufacturing
- Casting technology
- Composite materials
- Computational mechanics
- Experimental mechanics
- Fatigue and Fracture mechanics
- Material modeling
- Metamaterials
- Modeling and simulation
- Multifield analysis
- Optimization
- Reinforced and stiffened structures
- Smart materials
- Structural mechanics
- Thermal stresses
Moreover, the focal topics listed above are not meant to exclude articles from additional areas. Similarly, we do not intend to limit the Special Issue's focus to structural materials only but will also endeavor to include studies on functional materials with relevance for applications in aerospace sector.
