About this special issue

The proposed special issue mainly sorts out emerging and burning issues faced day to day by the wastewater treatment industry and common effluent treatment plants. It also provides a comprehensive view of recent advents of various novel, advanced and hybrid treatment technologies in industrial wastewater treatment to treat emerging pollutants released by the industry in their untreated wastewater and how to reuse the treated water. This issue hopes to give an insight about recent developments through physico-chemical and microbiological focus in the treatment of emerging contaminants (pollutants) present in industrial wastewater and their re-use. The special issue will be sponsored by Science Publications, therefore authors will not be required to pay publication charges.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Wastewater treatment technologies.
  • Urban storm water management.
  • On-site and decentralized wastewater treatment systems.
  • Removal of trace organics and emerging contaminants.
  • Membrane and disinfection technologies.
  • Effluent disposal to waterways.
  • Potential effluent uses
  • Water reuse planning, policy, monitoring requirements, and standards/criteria.
  • The role of water reuse for integrated water resources management.
  • Wastewater treatment and reuse in future cities.
  • Sewage bio solids management.
  • Economic and social aspects of production and use of recycled water.
  • Health and ecological risk analysis in water recycling applications.
  • Historical development of wastewater treatment and reuse.
  • Highlights the recovery of resources from wastewater.
  • Emphasizes the role of nanotechnology in bioremediation of pollutants.
  • Emerging contaminants
  • Bioremediation of Organic and Metal Co-contaminated Environments.
  • New Bioremediation Technologies to Remove Heavy Metals and Radionuclides.
  • Bioremediation of Soils Polluted with Hexavalent Chromium using Bacteria.
  • Recovery of resources from wastewater
