About this special issue
Management of water resources is becoming challenging day by day with increase in population, urbanization, land use change, industrial development and many other factors. Increased variation in climate characteristics through increase in temperature, prolonged wet and dry periods, increase in climatic extremes and sea level rise has added more complexity. Changes in the hydrologic cycle are directly or indirectly linked to human and environmental health, economic activity, infrastructure and ecosystem.
This special issue is dedicated to discuss challenges and opportunities related to water resources management under changing climate. It intends to cover a wide range of research from field and laboratory experiments to computational modeling approaches which support sustainable development and management of water resources and infrastructures in both urban and agricultural environment. It also aims to showcase the development and application of various tools and techniques to support water resources management at various spatiotemporal scales.
This issue will mostly publish research articles with some mix of review articles. The paper length should be at least 8 pages long in Journal's specified formatting style. There is no page limit on the higher side. The special issue is supported by the American Journal of Environmental Science (AJES) (http://thescipub.com/journals/ajes). It is an international peer reviewed journal which presents original research articles, reviews, and letters in all areas of environmental studies and environmental sciences.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Climate change impact assessment on hydrology and water quality
- Field to watershed scale modeling for hydrology and water quality
- New zero water related research and application
- Urban BMPs and water resources management
- Agricultural BMPs and water resources management
- Reducing uncertainties in model parameterization, simulation strategies, impact assessment, others
