The call for papers
Read the original call: description and topics
Additive manufacturing (AM) techniques have been expanding rapidly and gaining increasing popularity due to its ability to produce extremely complex shaped metallic components. It is a process of building 3D parts, layer by layer, which undergoes rapid heating, melting, solidification and cooling during the process. The objective of this special issue is to present recent advances in the field of advanced manufacturing. It explores topics ranging from powder characterization; solidification process; thermal modeling of powder bed processes; defects and residual stresses; and materials design and alloy development. This special issue intends to provide a platform for experts, researchers and scholars to communicate and discuss knowledge in the field of additive manufacturing with all topics below. Moreover, this issue will publish high-quality reviews and research articles. There is no restriction on the length of the papers, however full experimental and methodological details, as applicable, must be provided. All submissions must adhere to the AJAS journal's format requirements.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing
- Consistency and Chemical Stability of Metal Powder
- Additive Manufacturing and General Nanomaterials
- Computational Tools for Additive Manufacturing
- Rapid tooling with additive manufacturing
- Supply chain management in additive manufacturing
- In Situ Process Monitoring
- Defects and Residual Stresses
- Process Optimization and Qualification
